Senior Cyber Security Consultant

Location: Remote

Contract: 6–12 months (strong extension potential)

We are partnering with a fast-growing, next-generation medical device company headquartered in the United States, with established and expanding operations across Europe. The business is developing a highly complex, connected medical device that will have a direct impact on patient care globally.

As part of this journey, they are seeking a Senior Cyber Security Consultant with deep experience in medical devices to take ownership of cyber security across a flagship program. This is a fully remote contract offering genuine influence, technical depth, and long-term potential.

The Role

In this role, you will be a key technical authority for cyber security on a connected medical device platform. You will work closely with engineering, quality, regulatory, and leadership teams to ensure security is embedded by design, not treated as an afterthought.

This is hands-on, meaningful work on a real product — not a box-ticking exercise. You will help shape secure architectures, guide decision-making, and ensure compliance with global regulatory standards throughout the device lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading cyber security strategy for a connected medical device
  • Threat modelling and cyber risk assessments across hardware, software, cloud, and connectivity
  • Defining and reviewing secure system architectures
  • Supporting regulatory submissions and audits from a cyber security perspective
  • Producing high-quality technical and compliance documentation
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams in a senior consultant capacity

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven senior-level experience in cyber security, ideally within medical devices
  • Strong understanding of connected and networked systems, including:
  • IoT devices
  • Cloud-based architectures
  • Embedded software and connectivity
  • Experience operating in highly regulated environments, with knowledge of standards such as:
  • MDR
  • FDA
  • ISO 13485
  • IEC 62304
  • IEC 81001-5-1
  • Ability to work end-to-end, from early threat modelling through to implementation and documentation
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote, senior consultant role
  • Clear communicator who can engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders

Why This Role?

  • Work on a highly innovative, complex medical device with real-world patient impact
  • Fully remote – work from anywhere
  • 6–12 month contract with a very strong likelihood of extension
  • Opportunity to influence security decisions at a system and product level
  • Join a high-calibre, forward-thinking global team
  • Be part of a growing medical device company with long-term vision and momentum
