About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist for a long term contract opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering advanced analytics and data-driven solutions within a complex and secure environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work on large-scale, mission-critical datasets, applying advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modelling techniques to support strategic decision-making and operational outcomes.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must hold an active NV2 or higher Australian Government Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess business requirements and identify opportunities for advanced analytics and data science solutions.
• Evaluate and leverage internal and external data sources to support analytical outcomes.
• Design, develop, and implement advanced analytics, statistical models, and machine learning solutions.
• Apply mathematical and predictive modelling techniques to solve complex business challenges.
• Lead technical activities across the full analytics lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, deployment, and optimisation.
• Contribute to the design and evolution of scalable analytics and data solution architectures.
• Evaluate alternative technical approaches and recommend solutions based on performance, scalability, and business requirements.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation in accordance with established standards and procedures.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across analytics methodologies, tools, and practices.
  
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Data Scientist delivering advanced analytics solutions in complex enterprise or government environments.
• Strong expertise in:
• Machine Learning
• Predictive Analytics
• Statistical Modelling
• Data Mining and Data Exploration
• Advanced Data Analytics
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, or equivalent analytical programming languages.
• Experience working with large and complex datasets.
• Strong understanding of analytical frameworks, data architectures, and data exploitation techniques.
• Ability to communicate complex technical findings to a broad range of stakeholders.
• Experience contributing to solution architecture and enterprise-scale analytical platforms.

Mandatory Requirement

• Current Australian Government NV2 Security Clearance or higher (TSPV highly regarded).

• Experience working within highly secure, regulated, or mission-critical environments.
• Exposure to geospatial, intelligence, operational, or large-scale analytical data domains.
