Senior Frontend Developer

Build the web interfaces millions of citizens use, in React and TypeScript, across a custom high code front end and the extension points of Liferay and Mendix, accessible and fluent in Arabic right to left.

We are hiring a Senior Front End Developer, on site in Muscat, to build the web experience a nation reaches its government through.

What you'll do: Build the platform's web front end in React and TypeScript, including where it extends Liferay and Mendix.

Key Responsibilities:
Build responsive, accessible web interfaces in React and TypeScript, on a foundation of strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Build custom high code front ends, and extend the platform where low code and portal stop
Develop Liferay front end with client extensions and its React based design system
Build Mendix pluggable widgets in React and TypeScript where the low code UI needs to go further
Consume REST and OData and other APIs, and manage front end state cleanly
Implement first class Arabic right to left layout and typography, and a fully bilingual interface
Meet accessibility standards (WCAG), and tune performance, bundle size, and load times
Work from the shared design system, uphold front end standards, and mentor developers

What makes you a fit:
You have built production web front ends at real scale, and shipped them
You are expert in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript, and fluent in TypeScript and React
You write clean, reusable components, and you care about accessibility and performance
You are comfortable extending platforms, ideally Liferay client extensions or Mendix pluggable widgets, or you can clearly pick it up
You have handled Arabic right to left, or another bidirectional or localized interface, and you know the traps
You integrate cleanly with REST and OData APIs, and manage state without making a mess
You hold a Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent track record
Bonus points for government, accessibility heavy, or large multilingual web products
Fluent English required; Arabic is a valuable advantage
