Overview of the Role

As a Senior Network Operations Engineer (L3) at HCLTech, you will play a pivotal role in supporting and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure for our global clients, particularly within regulated and financial-services environments. The position encompasses end-to-end ownership of incident, problem, and change management processes, ensuring the highest standards of network performance and reliability. Your expertise will directly impact the seamless operation of business-critical network services and reinforce HCLTech’s commitment to delivering exceptional client value.

Detailed Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 3 (L3) support for complex enterprise network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, and Data Center (DC) networks.
  • Take ownership of incident, problem, and change management for network services, ensuring timely resolution and minimal business disruption.
  • Optimize network performance by proactively monitoring, analyzing, and fine-tuning network parameters.
  • Isolate faults and conduct in-depth troubleshooting of critical and complex network issues.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers within a Service Integration and Management (SIAM) operating model, ensuring effective collaboration and issue resolution.
  • Maintain thorough documentation for network configurations, incident reports, and change management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and security standards, particularly within financial services environments.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and support teams.

Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise network operations, including LAN, WAN, and Data Center environments.
  • Proven expertise in incident, problem, and change management for network services.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills and experience with fault isolation in complex network scenarios.
  • Strong familiarity with network hardware and software from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Arista).
  • Experience working within a SIAM operating model and coordinating with multiple vendors.
  • In-depth understanding of regulatory requirements and security protocols in financial-services or other highly regulated industries.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Other Requirements (Optional)

  • Experience with automation and network management tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripting, SolarWinds).
  • Exposure to hybrid cloud environments and SDN technologies.
  • Project management experience or certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a global, multicultural team environment.
