Job Summary: Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

✅ Design and Implementation: Design and deploy new network solutions (LAN/WAN, VPNs, wireless, cloud networking, SD-WAN/MPLS) and improve the efficiency of existing networks, including creating detailed and accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for design components.

✅ Configuration and Maintenance: Install, configure, and support network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, proxy servers, and wireless access points (WAPs).

✅ Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor network performance, analyze network data, troubleshoot outages and complex connectivity issues, and plan upgrades and patches to maximize network uptime.

✅ Security Management: Support and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access controls. Previous hands-on security experience is preferred.

✅ Documentation and Compliance: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, diagrams, and configuration records while ensuring compliance with security standards, policies, and industry best practices.

✅ Collaboration and Support: Provide technical support to internal teams, coordinate with vendors and service providers, and collaborate with security, systems, and application teams on infrastructure projects.

✅ Capacity Planning: Conduct capacity planning and performance assessments to ensure the network infrastructure can scale effectively with organizational growth.

Required Qualifications

✅ Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

✅ Experience: Minimum 5+ years of proven hands-on experience in network engineering and/or network administration.

✅ Preferred Certifications:

✅ Cisco Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE

✅ CompTIA Certifications: Network+ or Security+

✅ Cloud Certifications: CCSK and/or AWS certifications are advantageous

Technical Skills

✅ Strong understanding of networking protocols, including TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, MPLS, and IPsec.

✅ Hands-on experience with enterprise networking solutions from vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, and Palo Alto.

✅ Proficiency with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark and SolarWinds.

✅ Knowledge of cloud networking architectures and virtualization technologies.

✅ Familiarity with scripting and automation tools/languages such as Python and Bash.

✅ Ability to follow established company standards and best practices for network design, implementation, and configuration.
