Senior Software Engineer

SGI is currently supporting a client in Ghent who are looking for an experienced Embedded Linux Engineer to join a long-term freelance project.

The position sits within a technical R&D environment focused on embedded software development for next-generation products and connected systems. They’re looking for someone who enjoys working close to hardware and is comfortable operating across the full embedded software lifecycle.

You would be joining an established engineering team working on low-level development, Linux-based systems, and performance-critical software in a modern development environment.

Key experience:

• Strong Embedded Linux development experience

• Good C/C++ programming skills

• Experience working close to hardware and embedded platforms

• Familiar with drivers, interfaces, or communication protocols

• Comfortable debugging and troubleshooting at system level

• Experience working in collaborative engineering teams
