About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at FirstVet. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and enhancing the infrastructure that powers our innovative services. You will work closely with our small but dedicated DevOps team, taking ownership of critical tasks that ensure the stability, security, and scalability of our platform. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and improving infrastructure, automating deployment pipelines, and contributing to security and compliance initiatives. As part of a collaborative environment, you will work across multiple product teams, fostering best practices and sharing knowledge to improve operational excellence. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain broad exposure to cloud infrastructure, automation, and security practices within a fast-growing company committed to making a tangible difference in pet healthcare. Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automation processes
  • Proficiency in programming or scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or TypeScript
  • Interest or experience in infrastructure as code frameworks like Terraform or Pulumi
  • Strong collaborative and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Motivated to learn, take ownership, and proactively identify improvement opportunities

Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of our infrastructure, tooling, and delivery pipelines to ensure efficient service development and operation
  • Contribute to security and compliance initiatives by building infrastructure aligned with industry standards
  • Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows
  • Maintain and evolve shared infrastructure components, CLI tools, and AI platforms
  • Drive initiatives to improve observability, enabling better monitoring and operational insights
  • Identify areas for improvement proactively and lead efforts to implement enhancements
  • Share best practices and technical knowledge with team members to foster continuous improvement
