Network Engineer

BLACKROC is partnering with a fast-growing Australian business to secure a Network Engineer to take ownership of a large-scale network environment. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact, hands-on role.

Role Purpose

We are seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to execute a major network uplift and standardisation initiative.

You will be responsible for implementing network changes across a distributed environment, replacing legacy infrastructure, and establishing a consistent, scalable network foundation.

Key Responsibilities

• Roll out standardised network architecture across 100+ sites
• Perform physical and logical remediation (cabling, VLANs, IP addressing)
• Replace Meraki MX appliances with Palo Alto firewalls
• Implement Palo Alto SD-WAN and Azure connectivity
• Execute network migration activities
• Provide BAU support (incident management, troubleshooting)
• Support rollout of new sites as the business expands
• Work autonomously as the primary network specialist

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience as a Network Engineer (mid-level)
• Hands-on experience with:
• Palo Alto firewalls (deployment & configuration)
• Cisco Meraki (switching & wireless)
• Routing & switching fundamentals
• Exposure to SD-WAN concepts
• Basic Azure networking knowledge
• Experience in multi-site environments
• Strong problem-solving and ownership mindset

Preferred Skills

• Experience in network transformation or rollout programs
• Exposure to automation or scripting
• Experience in lean or standalone environment
