ABOUT THE ROLE


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance Team at the Melbourne Football Club. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is looking to contribute to an excellent and high-performing finance function.


As an Accounts Payable Officer, you will coordinate and oversee the Accounts Payable function while delivering efficient administrative support to the finance and operations teams.


KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY


Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, the key areas of responsibilities will include:


  • Prepare Creditor payment proposals for Mid and End of Month Processing for MFC and Casey FC.
  • Daily bank journaling and update of rolling cashflow forecast.
  • Monthly Credit Card Reconciliations
  • Processing of all Medical Invoices and processing of Medicare Rebates
  • Fortnightly Casual Payroll for MFC and Casey FC
  • Provide instruction to AP Assistant
  • Oversee management of MFC and Casey FC Accounts inbox and reply to stakeholder queries.
  • Weekly bank reconciliation for MFC
  • Monthly bank reconciliation for Casey FC and Melbourne Sports Operations
  • Support the finance and operations department as required


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE


You are detailed-oriented with experience in a similar role across finance, bookkeeping, or payroll, ideally within a related industry. You are someone who brings hands-on expertise with finance systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 and SportsRM, along with a strong track record in managing vendor relationships and stakeholder communication.


You possess solid intermediate computer skills, with advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and demonstrate excellent data entry accuracy with a keen eye for detail. A commitment to delivering exceptional customer service is essential, supported by strong communication and interpersonal abilities.


You are someone who thrives in a collaborative team environment, contributing positively while also taking initiative. You are highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, whilst prioritising workloads to meet deadlines. You are self-motivated, result-driven, and consistently looking for ways to improve efficiency and processes, to achieve high quality outcomes.
