Launch Recruitment are currently supporting an Australian leading enterprise organisation on the lookout for an Android Mobile Engineer to support the development, delivery and operational performance of a large-scale native Android application for an initial 6-month period with a high probability of extension.

Responsibilities Include -

  • Develop, maintain and enhance a native Android application using modern architecture and best practices.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the Android development framework, including migrating legacy components to modern Android standards.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate mobile builds, testing, code signing and deployments to the Google Play Store and internal distribution channels.
  • Ensure high application reliability and performance by monitoring production environments and addressing crashes, regressions and operational issues.
  • Implement and support security and compliance requirements, including secure data handling and automated vulnerability remediation.

Experience Required -

  • 7+ years’ experience in software engineering, including 2–3 years working with native Android applications or mobile delivery platforms
  • Strong knowledge of the Android SDK and modern Android development practices
  • Experience designing or maintaining mobile CI/CD pipelines, ideally using Azure DevOps or similar tooling
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with enterprise platforms and APIs
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Splunk) to analyse performance and stability
  • Experience implementing DevSecOps practices, including static analysis and automated security checks within pipelines
  • Proven ability to transition teams from manual build/deployment processes to automated, code-driven workflows
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across engineering, operations and security teams
  • Android or cloud DevOps certifications are desirable
