Scrum Master DevSecOps

Be part of an exciting global effort working on the next gen mining operational technology suite that will transform surface mining. In this role you’ll work in the Brisbane product development centre with over 130 team members and is part of a wider effort with product development centres in the US, Canada & India.

Our client is a global leader and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of mining and construction equipment, power systems, and advanced digital solutions. You’ll sit within the team developing the next generation of mining operational technology for surface mining, leveraging robotics, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, advanced geospatial capabilities, and autonomous drone technologies to transform the future of mining operations.

About the Role

As the Scrum Master, you'll play a key role in leading the DevOps and DevSecOps focusing on CI/CD pipelines, IaC, platform engineering and security integration for the Agile delivery across cross-functional teams. You’ll foster collaboration, remove impediments, and drive the successful delivery of complex digital products that are transforming the future of mining.

The Technical Environment

Agile delivery across a modern cloud-native DevOps ecosystem, leveraging AWS, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), enterprise CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub, Azure DevOps), microservices architecture, SQL Server/PostgreSQL databases, and applications developed in .NET, Java and Python within a strong focus on automation, quality, security and continuous delivery.

• Key ResponsibilitiesFacilitate Agile ceremonies including prioritization, planning, stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, aligned to platform and enablement objectives.
• Support teams in evolving from reactive delivery to proactive, platform-driven execution
• Drive improvements in lead time, cycle time delivery reliability and continuous improvement
• Identify and collaborate on the removal of delivery impediments impacting DevSecOps initiatives and those impacting the software delivery
• Coach and mentor Agile teams in Kanban and SAFe methodologies with DevSecOps ways of working
• Support adoption of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), security integration and automation practices
• Partner with Product Owners to ensure well-defined, prioritised backlogs
• Communicate delivery progress, risks and outcomes to stakeholders

About You To be successful in this role, you will bring an outcome focus:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Scrum Master within Agile software delivery environments
• Strong experience with Kanban and/or SAFe frameworks
• Previous experience in DevOps or DevSecOps or Platform Engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to improve team performance, remove systemic blockers and optimise delivery flow
• Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira or similar Agile delivery tools
• A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for Agile mentoring and coaching

Desirable

• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe Scrum Master (SSM)
• Experience supporting platform or enablement teams
• Deep understanding of CI/CD tooling and enterprise delivery practices, including Jenkins, GitHub, and Azure DevOps.
• Exposure to cloud technologies, CI/CD tooling and DevSecOps ecosystems

Important Information

• Based in Brisbane office - 5 days a week
• Candidates must be in Brisbane or Greater Brisbane area
• Only Australian or New Zealand citizens or Australian PR will be considered for this role.
• This is a 12mth contract for a significant project going for multiple years, so there is a possibility in converting to permanent.
