We are seeking a Senior Rendering Engineer / Game Optimization Engineer to drive the performance and efficiency of our game to the highest level. Responsibilities
As a Senior Rendering Engineer / Game Optimization Engineer, you will:
- Profile & optimize CPU & GPU performance to ensure smooth gameplay across a range of hardware.
- Identify and fix rendering bottlenecks related to shaders, lighting, culling, LODs, draw calls, and scene complexity.
- Develop and implement efficient rendering techniques (e.g., occlusion culling, mesh batching, async compute, GPU instancing).
- Work closely with the gameplay, AI, and environment teams to balance visual fidelity and performance.
- Optimize memory usage, streaming, and asset loading for open-world and procedurally generated environments.
- Collaborate on graphics pipeline improvements for DX12/Vulkan, and ensure compatibility with modern GPUs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest rendering & performance optimization techniques and integrate them into our engine.
- Work with external partners (e.g., NVIDIA, AMD) to leverage DLSS, FSR, and AI-based upscaling solutions.
- 3+ years of experience in rendering and optimization in AAA or high-performance games.
- Expert in GPU/CPU profiling tools like PIX, NSight, RenderDoc, Razor, and built-in engine profilers.
- Strong knowledge of shader programming (HLSL/GLSL), rendering pipelines, and modern graphics APIs (DX12, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL).
- Deep understanding of multi-threaded rendering, culling techniques, GPU memory management, and performance bottlenecks.
- Experience optimizing open-world environments, procedural assets, and physics-heavy scenes.
- Proficiency in C++ and performance-focused game engine development (Unreal, Unity, or custom engines).
- Familiarity with asset streaming, texture compression, LOD management, and async compute techniques.
- Experience working with consoles (Xbox, PlayStation) and PC hardware optimizations is a plus.
- Passion for pushing technical boundaries while ensuring a smooth gameplay experience.
- Onsite position (EU work authorization required).
