Senior .Net Software Engineer - Contract, up to $1000/day

We're partnering with a leading software consultancy to find exceptional engineers for an exciting legacy replatforming project with a global public sector technology provider.

The Opportunity

Join a high-impact project modernising critical government workflow management systems used by councils and local government organisations. You'll be rebuilding legacy Informix solutions into cutting-edge Azure-based SaaS architecture.

The Tech:

• Modern .NET microservices architecture
• Event-driven cloud solutions on Azure
• Angular frontend (or comparable modern framework)
• Scalable SaaS platform serving public sector clients

The Role

Technical Leadership:

• Drive technical decisions on architecture and design
• Work both as a specialist consultant and collaborative team member
• Start in a team of 4, scaling to 15+ engineers across multiple squads
• Provide technical risk assessment and recommendations

Consultative Impact:

• Build relationships and influence stakeholders as a trusted external expert
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Challenge existing approaches while respecting organisational constraints
• Balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills:

• 4+ years commercial .NET/C# experience
• Microservices architecture experience
• Cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Modern frontend framework experience (Angular preferred)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Experience working in consultative/client-facing environments

Highly Regarded:

• Event-driven architecture patterns
• Legacy system modernisation projects
• Agile/XP practices background
• Experience with quality automation and testing practices
