PhD Position in Molecular Biotechnology

Role Description

The goal of the position is that the PhD will complete a doctoral education programme and obtain a doctoral degree.

The PhD candidate will work as part of the SFI Industrial Biotechnology (SFI-IB, https://sfi-ib.com/). The SFI-IB is a research-based innovation centre lead by SINTEF Industry and funded by the Research Council of Norway. In the project we will research RNA modifying enzymes and their production. The PhD candidate will work on both the engineering of such enzymes as well as genetically optimizing microbial production hosts. 

The project will happen in very tight collaboration with ArcticZymes AS and SINTEF, enabling the candidate to use respective infrastructure as well as expert supervision from the partners.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related fields
• Experience in research methodologies, data analysis, and laboratory techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research team
• Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field
• Publication record in peer-reviewed journals is a plus
