The St1 Energy Transition Talent Program offers a unique opportunity for ambitious individuals to become future key players in our organization.


This 18-month rotational program is designed for high-potential individuals at the beginning of their careers who are eager to build a lasting, impactful career with St1. Through hands-on experience across different teams – potentially in different countries – participants gain a holistic view of our operations, accelerate their professional development, and contribute meaningfully to our vision: to be the leading producer and seller of CO₂-aware energy.


About the program

  • permanent employment: From day one, you are a full-time, permanent employee. The program is a steppingstone to a long-term role, defined together during the journey.
  • tailored rotations: You will rotate through three roles across different functions and locations aligned with your interests, skills, and our business needs.
  • holistic learning: Gain cross-functional exposure and deep understanding of our commercial, operational, and strategic activities.
  • looking ahead: Together, we’ll define your next role. One that builds on what you’ve learned and contributes meaningfully to our shared success.


Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for curious minds, fast learners, and future shapers, whether you’re a recent graduate or have some early career experience. You don’t need to have everything figured out yet. What matters most is your potential, eagerness to grow, and motivation to make a difference.


You might have a background in Industrial Engineering & Management, Economics, Physics, Mathematics, or Engineering, combined with an interest in how value is created and how decisions impact both business and society. A commercial mindset is essential, as it is a drive to understand how business, technology, and regulation intersect—particularly in the context of the energy transition.


We’re seeking people who:

  • think quickly and learn even faster
  • are naturally curious and enjoy solving complex problems
  • move easily between strategic thinking and detailed analysis
  • are excited about commercial strategy, regulation, and value creation in a rapidly changing environment
  • communicate clearly and collaborate well with diverse teams


Fluency in English is required. Skills in Finnish, Swedish, or Norwegian is a definite plus.


While prior experience isn’t required, it’s a plus if you have:

  • internships in banking, finance, or consulting
  • experience with data, analytics, or coding
  • exposure to the energy sector or startups


We also appreciate familiarity with tools like Excel, Python, or R, or a willingness to learn them.

Selection process & timeline

  • application period – weeks 36-38
  • aptitude & personality assessments – 39
  • review of test results with Barona – weeks 41-42
  • 1st round interviews with St1– week 44
  • case assessment and final interview – weeks 45-46
  • final selections – made in November 2025
  • personalized onboarding & rotation planning – December 2025
  • program start – January 2026
