Cyber Resilience & IT Continuity Lead

Contract Duration: 12 months (with extension)

Location: Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2–3 days in the office per week) - Must be an Australian citizen.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Resilience & IT Continuity Lead to drive the development and implementation of enterprise-wide disaster recovery, business continuity, and cyber resilience strategies. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organisation’s ability to respond to and recover from disruptions, while aligning with industry standards and government requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the design and execution of ICT Disaster Recovery (DR), Business Continuity Planning (BCP), and System Contingency Plans.
• Assess organisational risk and identify capability gaps in crisis management and infrastructure resilience.
• Integrate cyber security principles into business continuity and contingency planning.
• Apply deep understanding of IT infrastructure and DR technologies (e.g., backup systems, cloud platforms).
• Analyse cyber threat tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) and assess their impact on DR strategies.
• Implement and maintain contingency planning frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST 800-34, ISM, ISO 27001 / 22301).
• Facilitate tabletop exercises, DR test execution, and post-incident reviews.
• Promote cloud-based continuity best practices and solutions.
• Align BCP/DR practices with enterprise risk management frameworks and audit requirements.

Essential Criteria

1. Minimum of five years’ experience in cyber security.
2. Extensive experience operating in Australian public sector environments.
3. Proven experience in disaster recovery scenarios, continuity planning, and crisis management.
4. Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cloud environments, and cybersecurity principles.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
