Senior Drilling Manager

Job Purpose:

The Senior Drilling Manager is responsible for leading the planning and execution of all onshore drilling operations. This role ensures that drilling activities are performed safely, efficiently, within budget, and in full compliance with regulations and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and oversight for onshore drilling operations.
• Develop and manage drilling plans, work programs, and budgets.
• Oversee rig mobilization, drilling execution, and demobilization processes.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and operational standards.
• Monitor drilling KPIs and implement performance improvement measures.
• Coordinate closely with engineering, geology, and HSE teams.
• Lead the resolution of technical and operational drilling challenges.
• Manage contractors to ensure quality service and adherence to standards.
• Mentor and develop drilling personnel to build team capabilities.
• Represent the company in regulatory, client, and industry meetings.

Education & Certifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• IWCF or IADC Well Control certification is mandatory.

Experience:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in drilling operations.
• At least 5 years in a supervisory drilling role.
• 2 years of GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) experience is an advantage.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

• Strong expertise in drilling engineering, well planning, and rig operations.
• Proven leadership in high-pressure operational environments.
• Proficiency in drilling software (e.g., WellPlan, Landmark, or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
