Teaching Assistant / Education Support Specialist

The Arts & Sciences group at Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar (CMUQ) offers courses in English, history, psychology, philosophy, languages, math, and physics that fulfill General Education and electives requirements for the four majors offered at CMUQ: Business Administration, Biological Sciences, Computer Sciences, and Information Systems.

We seek a Teaching Assistant or Educational Support Specialist to support writing-intensive courses such as first-year writing courses. The candidate will work closely with the Area Head for Arts faculty, English faculty, and other faculty, teaching writing-intensive courses to assist with classroom management, support students' writing development outside of class, help develop curriculum for first-year writing courses, support programs and workshops on special topics, assist with writing assessment, and assist with special projects such as research related to writing.

Qualifications:

MA in English, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Writing Studies, or related field

At least 3 years of experience

Candidates will be considered for a Teaching Assistant or Educational Support Specialist position upon qualifications and experience.

Position is for 1 year renewable up to 3 years.
