About the role

Are you ready to dive into solving mathematical optimization challenges? Look no further! We're seeking a passionate individual to join our Product & Engineering Team as Optimization Data Scientist.

As Optimization Data Scientist At Binocs You Will

• Develop and deploy optimization models for scheduling, planning, resource allocation.
• Apply operations research techniques constraint programming, mixed-integer programming (MIP), and metaheuristics to solve NP-hard problems at scale.
• Collaborate closely within a smaller team of data engineers, QA, PO and domain experts, to translate real-world user challenges into mathematical models.
• Data cleaning & preparation is not expected in this role - you get clean data and focus really on the modelling.
• Support investigations on user-reported bugs, slow convergence, and contribute to ongoing implementations with algorithm-related guidance. 
  
  

Job requirements

About You

• You hold a Master´s degree or PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• You bring more than 3 years of experience in applying OR optimization techniques in industry settings.
• You have strong programming skills in Python, with experience using libraries like ortools, pyomo, etc. and are familiar with object-oriented programming.
• You have a solid mathematical understanding of job shop problems and multi-objective optimization.
• You are fluent in English, written and verbal.

Additional Assets Include

• Experience in pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or logistics scheduling is a definite plus.
• Exposure to machine learning or hybrid AI and OR systems, reinforcement learning is a nice add-on to your profile for innovative projects .
