Summary

The IT Project Manager is responsible for planning, managing and successfully deliver the Cargo Management System (CMS) Project for in full compliance with the project practices, standards, and processes of the Company.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Track delivery against the original business case and updating, escalating any deviations as necessary.
  • Track and manage delivery of the project against the original or agreed scope/ requirements / Project Management Plan, documenting any deviation.
  • Define, update and re-baseline the project plans as required and share with stakeholders. These plans will include the global implementation as well as business (entity) specific project plans.
  • Delegate responsibility, track and report for the deliverables to the project to the various project team roles and set the quality, budget and schedule expectations for these deliverables.
  • Work with Finance to regularly track actual vs budgeted expenditure and set up benefits trackers and post implementation/investment review exercises.
  • Document and regularly review risks and issues across the project, escalating to the Local Steering Group where necessary for quick resolution.
  • Prepare and facilitate team meetings, vendor meetings and project steering groups, producing standard project status reports as required.
  • Ensure all project documentation is of good quality and maintained in a project document repository with version control.
  • Work closely with the allocated IT vendors to deliver the IT and system requirements as per agreed scope on different interfaces and infrastructures.
  • With support from the Lead Applications, Head of IT, Business leads, manage the vendors closely to ensure the requirements are met, the delivery plan is executed as expected and any issues are quickly escalated and / or resolved.
  • With the Change Specialist and business leaders, develop and execute a robust change management plan
  • Manage stakeholders closely, ensuring close engagement and collaboration on all aspects of the project, whilst striving to resolve any conflicts with the support of the project team where they arise.
  • Collaborate with other change managers within dnata/Emirates to manage any dependencies between them.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace safety, security, and health policies and procedure
  • Perform any ad-hoc duties as assigned by the reporting manager or department head


Requirements

  • Minimum Degree/ Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science / Engineering and related qualifications
  • Minimum 8 years of working experience in managing IT related projects
  • Experience in leading delivery of business IT solutions, ideally in the travel & transportation industry is of advantage.
