Relocate to Melbourne - Senior Frontend Developer

They are currently hiring a Senior Frontend Developer to join a newly established Design Systems Team which is responsible for developing a scalable component library that supports cross-platform web and native applications. This team sits at the heart of the company’s growth strategy acting as a key link between design and engineering and enabling high-quality consistent user experiences at scale.

What you will do:

• Design and maintain a centralised component library for internal teams across platforms

• Build performant, accessible, and highly reusable components using modern frameworks

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product, design, and backend engineering

• Promote adoption of the design system through documentation, tooling, and best practices

• Contribute to developer experience by building intuitive guidelines and workflows

• Support and mentor junior engineers within the broader frontend community

What we are looking for:

• A minimum of seven years of software engineering experience with strong frontend expertise

• Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript, and familiarity with frameworks such as React and Svelte

• Proven experience building and scaling design systems or complex UI frameworks

• Strong understanding of component libraries, developer tooling, and frontend architecture

• Experience with SSR frameworks such as NextJS or SvelteKit is desirable

• Exposure to tools like Storybook and a passion for clean, accessible, and maintainable code

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across design and engineering teams
