Reports to: IM&T Analytic Management Lead
Job Purpose:
The Senior Functional Specialist plays a key role in driving the success of analytics initiatives by bridging business needs with technical solutions. Leveraging extensive domain expertise, the consultant engages stakeholders, facilitates workshops, captures and documents requirements, and collaborates with technical teams to develop impactful analytics solutions. The role also focuses on optimizing current processes, identifying areas for improvement, and driving the delivery of analytics projects using Agile methodologies to ensure timely and high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to align analytics solutions with organizational goals.
- Conduct workshops to gather requirements and elicit actionable insights.
- Project Management
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business priorities.
- Apply Agile methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and facilitating retrospectives.
- Requirements Gathering and Documentation
- Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications and user stories.
- Maintain a well-prioritized backlog of requirements aligned with business value.
- Domain Expertise Application
- Leverage deep knowledge of industry-specific challenges and opportunities to inform analytics solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor on leveraging data for decision-making.
- Process Optimization
- Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and recommend innovative solutions for improvement.
- Drive process re-engineering initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
- Data Analysis and Validation
- Collaborate with technical teams to validate data models and ensure solution accuracy.
- Use data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Leadership and Mentorship
- Mentor junior analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact solutions.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in business analysis, preferably in data analytics-focused roles.
- Extensive knowledge of oil and gas operations, processes, and data systems
- Proficiency with reporting tools( e.g PowerBI, Tableau)
- Proven experience in process optimization and driving operational excellence in the area of Data & Analytics
- Experience in leading Agile analytics projects and delivering iterative solutions
