About The Role

The AFLW Lead Trainer is responsible for the management of all sports trainer duties at AFLW games and the organisation of trainers across the AFLW program. Reporting to the AFL Lead Trainer & Myotherapist this position plays a critical role in ensuring all trainers within the AFLW are lead and developed.

  • Sports trainer duties at all AFLW games & training sessions (inclusive of hydration, strapping, first aid)
  • Assist in the rostering of all AFLW shifts & act as the key contact for casual trainers rostered
  • Assist in the rostering of all AFLW shifts & act as the key contact for casual trainers rostered
  • Provide guidance and support to all casual trainers on game day
  • Uphold best practice systems & procedures to ensure elite support to a high performing environment

About You

For this role you must be available for AFLW training and game days. This includes weekday (during the day) and weekend work on a casual basis.

You Will Also Have

  • Experience working in an elite sporting environment
  • Exceptional work ethic with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Ability to communicate clearly with elite athletes, coaches and management
  • Ability to build positive connections
  • Flexibility in working hours
  • Physically fit and able to safely lift at least 20kgs
  • Sports trainer certification – Level 1 SMA sports trainer
  • Level 1 First aid certificate (CPR)
