Job Summary
Along with internal and external partners, the game designer manages the development of new games from concept to release. He or she also participates in the integration and tuning of existing games.
Reporting to the senior vice-president of game design, the game designer creates game mechanics, themes and features that enhance the player’s engagement. Working closely with artists, developers, and mathematicians, the game designer understands slot game psychology, player behavior and industry trends, and plays a key role in creating visually captivating and engaging gameplay.

Job Summary

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Provides vision to the development team to create compelling games.
- Manages the development of all aspects of the game from kick-off to release.
- Contributes to and provides leadership on projects, processes and workflows that typically impact multiple internal and external clients.
- Leads development of game concepts based on intellectual property, games in other formats or original game ideas.
- Creates conceptual level story boards for possible new games and prepares conceptual design documents for these new games.
- Defines the technical and creative vision for games including playability, fun factor, and unique features.
- Coordinates suggestions or comments from a variety of creative and knowledgeable individuals.
- Provides relevant information to product development schedule.
- Creates and maintains product documentation including functional specifications, wire frame layouts, and flow charts.
- Manages regular product reviews and prioritizes feedback from stakeholders.
- Facilitates the improvement of the overall production process to increase levels of efficiency, quality of work, and profitability.
- College diploma (DEC) or bachelor’s degree in a field related to game development or relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the game development industry and/or in casino gaming.
- Advanced in-depth knowledge of the gaming industry.
- Relevant experience in game design, software games production/development, and project management.
- Experience with game balancing and RNG mechanics.
- Good understanding of UI/UX design.
- Understanding of and experience with slot game mathematics.
- Ability to play and evaluate slot games.
- Skills in flow charts, storyboards and/or art creation tools such as Photoshop.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is also regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Depending on the position, may have to travel locally, nationally or internationally.
