Senior Full-stack Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Full-stack Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to build groundbreaking products for data consumers. Starting with a focus on frontend development, you'll transition into more backend-oriented tasks in the Big Data domain. In your day-to-day, you will:

Lead, build, and own the development of complex, data-centric applications from start to finish
Initially focus on frontend, developing a web-based IDE for data specialists using React.js, TypeScript, and modern UI frameworks, and then transition towards backend development, working with big data processing, distributed systems, and infrastructure
Be hands-on with both client and server sides of the stack, using functional JavaScript, Python, Scala, Node.js, and React.js
Design and integrate high-scale backend services and APIs with big data and analytics platforms
Integrate with various big data and analytics technologies, working with both SQL and NoSQL databases and distributed analytical query engines
Collaborate closely with product managers, UX specialists, and other teams to drive complex projects
Invest time in your own personal growth in the data domain, the Server Guild at Wix, and contribute by mentoring others

Qualifications

Senior Full-stack Engineer with 5+ years of experience, with a strong inclination towards backend engineering
Proficient in modern frontend frameworks like React, Angular, Vue, or Next.js
Experience working with backend technologies (Node.js, Python, Scala, or Java), with a desire to grow into a big data-focused backend engineer, while still comfortable with full-stack development
Strong understanding of databases (SQL & NoSQL) and experience designing scalable, high-performance microservices
Excellent communication skills in Ukrainian and English
Previous experience working on big data systems, distributed computing, or analytics platforms – an advantage
