Overview

As a Data Engineer at 8x8, you will contribute to the foundation of our data architecture by developing and optimizing data pipelines that support business intelligence and analytics. Working closely with data architects, analysts, and other stakeholders, you will help build and maintain the infrastructure needed to surface high-quality, reliable data for decision-making. This role offers an opportunity to work with tools such as Snowflake, Matillion, and Tableau and provides exposure to diverse data types, including financial, behavioral, and operational data.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Pipeline Development:
• Design, implement, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to move and transform data from various sources.
• Build scalable data pipelines that ensure data is integrated, processed, and available for analytics across the organization.
• Data Architecture Support:
• Assist in defining data architecture solutions under the guidance of senior team members, contributing to the integrity and scalability of data structures.
• Data Quality & Compliance:
• Collaborate in setting up and monitoring data quality standards and validation processes, with a focus on adhering to SOX compliance, security, and data protection requirements.
• Proactively troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues to maintain data reliability.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs, support data-driven insights, and refine pipeline processes as required.
• Contribute to CSAT improvements by ensuring data accuracy and supporting timely operational insights.
• Documentation & Best Practices:
• Maintain documentation of data pipelines and processes, following best practices in version control, testing, and deployment.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in data engineering, evaluating new tools and frameworks under the guidance of senior engineers.
  
  

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: 3+ years in data engineering, ETL development, or similar roles, with experience in developing data pipelines and optimizing data architectures.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency with Snowflake and experience with ETL tools such as Matillion.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Familiarity with cloud-based data solutions, preferably on AWS.
• Problem-Solving & Communication: Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
