Are you a Data & Analytics Engineering Specialist who enjoys building scalable data foundations while turning data into actionable insights that drive business decisions?
This role sits within a growing Communications Engineering/Analytics function in the Energy sector, focused on enabling data-driven decision-making across internal and external communications channels.
You'll operate at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, reporting, and emerging AI-enabled analytics capabilities - helping to build the data infrastructure that powers insights, dashboards, and intelligent analytics solutions.
This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Business Analysts, AI Engineers, and analytics stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions and meaningful business outcomes.
Your Role as a Data & Analytics Engineering Specialist:
You will be responsible for building and maintaining the data platforms, pipelines, and reporting capabilities that support communications measurement and analytics.
Working across engineering and analytics activities, you'll ensure that data is reliable, accessible, and transformed into valuable insights that support business decision-making.
You'll also collaborate on emerging AI-driven analytics initiatives, helping bridge the gap between traditional analytics and next-generation intelligent solutions.
What You'll Do:
- Collect, clean, validate, and transform data from multiple sources
- Build, maintain, and optimise ETL pipelines and data workflows
- Support and enhance the Communications data lake environment
- Develop analytics-ready datasets that enable scalable reporting and analysis
- Perform data analysis to uncover trends, insights, and business opportunities
- Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions
- Collaborate closely with Business Analysts to translate business requirements into data solutions
- Support AI-enabled analytics initiatives alongside AI Engineering teams
- Enable self-service analytics capabilities for business users
- Maintain technical documentation and development artefacts
- Ensure data governance, privacy, and compliance standards are met
- Monitor data quality and continuously improve data reliability
What You'll Bring:
- Strong experience with Python and SQL
- Experience building and maintaining ETL pipelines and data integration solutions
- Good understanding of databases, data modelling, and analytics workflows
- Hands-on experience with Power BI and dashboard development
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Snowflake
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into business insights
- Experience supporting reporting, analytics, and data-driven decision making
- Understanding of data governance, privacy, and quality principles
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience operating within large enterprise environments is advantageous
- Exposure to AI-enabled analytics, automation, or intelligent agent solutions is a plus
