About the Role - The Software Development Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software products through rigorous testing processes. This role involves creating and executing test plans, identifying defects, and working closely with developers to ensure the software meets both functional and non-functional requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in both manual and automated testing, an eye for detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.

Responsibilities -

• Develop detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business and functional requirements.
• Perform manual testing of new software features and bug fixes across various environments (e.g., web, mobile, desktop).
• Design and develop automated test scripts to streamline repetitive test processes.
• Execute functional, regression, integration, and system tests to ensure quality throughout the development cycle.
• Implement performance testing, load testing, and security testing as required by project scope.
• Track defects through resolution, collaborating with the development team to ensure timely fixes and retesting.
• Assist in the post-release phase by validating bug fixes, performance improvements, and new features.

Qualifications - BSc in IT, Computer Science / Computer Information Systems or equivalent degree an advantage.

Skills

Experience in both manual and automated testing processes

Performance Testing: Experience with performance testing tools.

API Testing: Experience testing RESTful APIs (an advantage)

Mobile Testing: Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android platforms.

Security Testing: Understanding of security testing principles

Agile Methodologies: Experience working in Agile environments, participating in sprints, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews, including familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools.

2+ years of experience in a business analyst role, ideally within software development or IT projects.
