Flutter Software Engineer

ABOUT THE JOB

Funteron is building the global aggregator of sports betting — a single platform that lets fans compare odds across licensed operators and bet with whoever they choose, embedded inside the media brands they already trust. Live now with ITV in the UK, launching next in Brazil and North America.

We're building our first mobile team, based in Lviv, Ukraine.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Flutter Engineer at Funteron, you'll work on a single Flutter codebase spanning iOS, Android, mobile web, and desktop — including the embeddable widget that partner media sites run directly on their own pages. You'll own the front end that fans use every day: racecards, live scores, odds comparison, and the hand-off flows into licensed operators. You'll work closely with our Product Director and backend engineering to ship fast, keep the app rock-solid under live-event traffic, and help set the standard for mobile engineering as the team grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain a single Flutter codebase deployed across iOS, Android, mobile web, and desktop.
• Develop the embeddable widget that partner media brands run directly on their own sites — a lead deliverable, not an afterthought.
• Design, build, and maintain features covering odds comparison, racecards, live scores/in-play hub, homepage, and operator hand-off flows.
• Translate product and design requirements into clean, performant UI, working closely with our Product Director on UX decisions.
• Integrate with backend APIs for pricing, markets, and operator data, including real-time odds and live score updates without janking the UI.
• Own app performance and stability, especially around peak traffic during major sporting events and tournament fixtures.
• Write automated tests, participate in code review, and help build out CI/CD for mobile releases.
• Manage app store submission and compliance (iOS and Android), including navigating gambling-adjacent classification and store policy.
• Work with backend and QA to debug and resolve production issues, including incident response when things break live.
• Contribute to technical standards and ways of working as a founding member of the mobile team.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• 4+ years professional experience building production Flutter apps, with at least one app shipped and maintained at scale on both iOS and Android.
• Strong Dart fundamentals — state management (Bloc, Riverpod, Provider), widget architecture, performance profiling.
• Experience integrating REST/GraphQL APIs, including frequently-updating real-time data (odds, pricing, live scores, or similar).
• Understanding of app store submission processes and platform review guidelines.
• Comfortable working in a cloud-hosted environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and collaborating with backend teams on API contracts.
• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and crash/performance monitoring for mobile.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience targeting Flutter web and/or desktop, in addition to mobile.
• Experience with native iOS/Android integration (platform channels, native SDKs).
• Familiarity with Firebase (analytics, crashlytics, remote config) or similar.
• Experience shipping apps in a regulated industry (gambling, fintech, or similar).
• Enough backend/API exposure to have useful opinions on contracts.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Someone pragmatic and delivery-focused who ships working software and iterates fast. You're comfortable with startup ambiguity, have a strong eye for UI polish and performance, and treat the app like it's yours — not a ticket queue. Interest in sports or sports betting is a plus, not a requirement.
