As a Data Analytics Specialist, you will apply strong analytical, technical, and critical thinking skills to explore data, identify trends, and deliver insights that enhance decision-making and improve business performance. You will play a key role in supporting operational and financial understanding through data. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will refine existing analyses and explore new methodologies to better support organizational leaders.

As a Data Analytics Specialist, you will apply strong analytical, technical, and critical thinking skills to explore data, identify trends, and deliver insights that enhance decision-making and improve business performance. You will play a key role in supporting operational and financial understanding through data. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will refine existing analyses and explore new methodologies to better support organizational leaders.
What you will do:
Analyze, Report, and Present Disability Morbidity Results
- Deliver regular trending and variance analyses to support understanding of key disability morbidity KPIs
- Collaborate with Group Division partners to leverage multiple data sources and assess operational impacts on financial results
- Fulfill complex analytical requests from senior leadership, providing clear and actionable insights on business performance
- Partner with business leaders to proactively identify opportunities for advanced analytics and data-driven solutions
- Plan, manage, and execute a range of analytical projects using strong project management practices
- Apply the analytics lifecycle to design, develop, and maintain advanced analytical models
- Enhance data quality by conducting data profiling and identifying gaps or inconsistencies in key data sources
- Translate complex data into clear, compelling insights tailored to the audience
- Present findings, trends, and model performance to senior management, supporting informed decision-making
- 3+ years of experience in analytics, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making
- Post-secondary education with exposure to data science and/or statistical concepts
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Access
- Experience with data tools such as SQL, Python/R, Power BI, or Tableau is considered an asset
- Knowledge of group insurance and disability products is an asset
- Experience in project planning and execution is an asset
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.
