Swiss Cyber Institute invites applications for the position of Psychometrician who can contribute to the science behind our assessment system and take full ownership of our education products. The successful candidate will help shape the next generation of cybersecurity and AI education.
Location: Remote in Estonia or within Europe
Employment type: Full-time
Start date: 01 September 2026
About the role:
This role covers two main areas. First, supporting us in building and running our skill assessment system. Second, leading the children's education product for emerging technologies. Both require turning real learning science into something that works in practice, not just on paper.
What you'll do:
Skill assessment system
- Support the Head of Learning and Product and Scientific Advisor in designing and validating assessments that measure real cybersecurity and AI skills, not just recall
- Contribute to the psychometric framework behind our skill intelligence system
- Help develop item banks, scoring models, and adaptive testing logic using IRT and CTT
- Run bias and reliability analyses and flag what needs fixing
- Work directly with instructors and the learning team to get measurement into the product
- Identify, define, and surface skills from learning and assessment data
Children's education product
- Lead and manage the children's education product for emerging technologies, acting as the main point of contact between content developers, learning experience designers, and the broader team
- Review current curriculum implementations, spot gaps, and push for improvements where needed
- Apply a range of assessment methods to track and analyze how children are actually learning and progressing
- Turn assessment findings into concrete feedback that content and design teams can act on
What you need:
- Master's or PhD (prefered) in Education, IT or similar areas
- Experience with IRT, CTT, and validity, not just familiarity
- Comfortable in R, Python, or dedicated psychometric tools
- Able to explain technical findings to people who don't speak measurement
- Experience coordinating between content, design, and technical teams
- Background in children's education, EdTech, or emerging technology curricula is a plus
- Background in professional certification or workforce credentialing is a plus
- Excellent written communication skills in English
- Ability to work cross-functionally and manage multiple tasks and priorities
Benefits:
- Fully remote position
- Flexible scheduling
- Opportunity to shape the next generation of education.
