We are looking for a Senior UI Engineer to help deliver a AAA fighting game UI in Unreal Engine 5, building performant and scalable systems across frontend and in-match experiences in a highly collaborative team. If you thrive in evolving UI art direction and production delivery, apply to join us.
Responsibilities
- Implement UI features and systems in Unreal Engine 5 using CommonUI, UMG, and Slate
- Build and maintain reusable UI components, widgets, input patterns, and interaction systems
- Partner with UX Designers, UI Tech Designers, and UI Artists to translate flows, prototypes, and visual designs into shippable in-engine UI
- Support frontend UI and in-match gameplay UI, including 2D UI, 3D-anchored 2D-rendered UI, and UI interactions with frontend scene actors
- Optimize UI performance, responsiveness, memory usage, load behavior, and input handling across supported platforms
- Integrate UI with gameplay systems, backend-facing services, progression systems, engagement systems, and publishing workflows as needed
- Implement UI animation, transitions, and effects using Unreal-native workflows such as UMG, Sequencer, Blueprints, and materials where appropriate
- Ensure UI works across a mobile-centric, multi-platform environment within the ecosystem
- Collaborate with sound and VFX teams to deliver polished UI feedback and call-to-action effects
- Participate in technical reviews, debugging, profiling, documentation, and production support
- Support seasonal updates, live operations, and post-release maintenance
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional experience implementing UI in Unreal Engine
- Hands-on experience with UE5 CommonUI, UMG, and Slate
- Strong C++ skills in Unreal Engine environments
- Experience with Blueprint-based UI workflows and designer-facing patterns
- Proven ability to build modular, reusable, and scalable UI systems
- Solid understanding of responsive UI, input abstraction, controller support, touch input, and multi-platform UI behavior
- Experience optimizing UI for performance-sensitive, real-time applications
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in complex game UI environments
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills with UX, art, technical design, gameplay engineering, production, sound, and VFX teams
- Adaptability to evolving UI direction, art style, and systems in production
- Proficiency in English: B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
Nice to have
- Experience on AAA, live-service, multiplayer, fighting, action, or competitive games
- Experience with mobile-first game UI
- Experience supporting seasonal content updates or live publishing pipelines
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma and HTML prototypes
- Experience integrating UI animation, materials, sound cues, and VFX-style feedback
- Experience using approved AI-assisted development tools in a professional production environment
