Svitla Systems, Inc.
Ukraine · Full-time · Not Applicable

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an Agile Scrum Master for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a global provider firm that gathers information and reports to enhance environmental and social impacts on the business.

We are looking for a senior leader with a wide array of qualities, primarily focused on leading rather than facilitating Scrum events for the squads. That person has to be able to deal with conflicts easily, instill urgency in completing projects, demonstrate strong coordination and alignment between squads and leadership, set proper expectations and manage them, etc. In this position, you will coach the various squads as they onboard new team members and tackle new projects, creating high-performing teams through lean-agile leadership. The Agile Coach will serve as a mentor, coach, and guide to the teams in implementing and transforming to an agile mindset, processes, and tools to ensure effective outcomes. The Agile Coach is a champion of change and a fosterer of a continuous learning environment. He/she continuously seeks to identify and clarify squad goals and alignment, and to foster an environment of trust and innovation.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience playing the Agile Coach role for a software development team, diligently applying Agile principles, practices, and theory.
  • Strong knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency.
  • Understanding of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Agile approach (example: numerous Burndown technologies, various Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.).
  • Excellent skills in communication and mentoring.
  • The ability to be a main facilitator of different Agile games/workshops.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, SAFe, etc.
  • The ability to coach our Agile teams in Root Cause Analysis sessions.
  • The ability to run and coach Agile Product leaders in value mapping sessions.

Nice to have

  • Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing organizational and business demands.
  • Any Agile/Scrum Master certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the Agile Maturity of the squad and coach them to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team.
  • Conduct training for establishing Agile fundamentals in software development teams.
  • Introduce new techniques for retrospectives to keep teams energized and improving.
  • Coach leadership and teams in identifying and removing impediments to delivering quality products.
  • Lead Agile workshops for both development and functional teams, as well as key stakeholders.
  • Promote and advocate a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones, and being accountable for them.
  • Guide the team and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values.
  • Coach the team on how to get the most out of self-organization.
  • Conduct the team in self-organizing to fill the intentional gaps left by the Agile/Scrum frameworks.
  • Provide all support to the team, using a servant-leadership style whenever possible and leading by example.
  • Support and educate Product Owners, especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
  • Remove impediments, or guide the team to remove them by finding the right personnel to address them.
  • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgment, with an emphasis on healing and problem-solving.
  • Facilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the work.
  • Promote discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution.
  • Assist with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and disseminating information.
