Job Summary
As a Computer Graphics Engineer, you will contribute to the development of the 3D visualization layer of the platform. In this role, you will design and build tools and systems that enable users to explore, analyze, and interact with large‑scale geospatial datasets directly within the browser. You will help drive the design and implementation of new 3D capabilities while continuously optimizing performance, scalability, and usability, ensuring smooth interaction with complex and massive datasets. This role operates at the intersection of computer graphics, large‑scale data visualization, and interactive web applications, offering the opportunity to work with advanced rendering
technologies and cutting‑edge geospatial visualization challenges.
Responsibilities
- Develop new 3D tools that enable users to interact with and analyze geospatial datasets, including point clouds, meshes, and LiDAR data.
- Enhance and extend existing visualization systems to ensure smooth, real‑time interaction with large and complex 3D scenes directly in the browser.
- Optimize rendering pipelines and data‑streaming workflows, implementing techniques such as level‑of‑detail (LOD) management, progressive loading, and efficient memory handling for massive datasets.
- Design intuitive 3D user interactions and analysis workflows, working closely with product designers, UX experts, and engineering teams to deliver a seamless experience.
- Research and experiment with new techniques in large‑scale 3D visualization, rendering optimization, and progressive data processing to continuously elevate platform capabilities.
Profile & Key Skills
- Degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Fluency in both English and French (oral and written) is mandatory.
- Hands-on experience building interactive 3D applications using modern WebGL‑based engines such as Three.js or Babylon.js.
- Strong understanding of core computer graphics concepts, including 3D mathematics, scene management, coordinate systems, camera models, and rendering performance optimization.
- Proficient programming skills in JavaScript or TypeScript, with clean, maintainable coding practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a product‑driven engineering team, contributing to design discussions, problem‑solving sessions, and cross‑functional workflows.
- Bonus: Familiarity with geospatial data formats such as LiDAR, point clouds, meshes, and photogrammetry datasets.
