Their technology is already being used to support global health initiatives while simultaneously creating commercially valuable intellectual property with significant long-term potential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to apply cutting-edge machine learning techniques to real-world scientific problems and see your work directly influence both research outcomes and commercial success.
Deep expertise in Machine Learning, AI (LLM fine-tuning), and an awareness of cheminformatics are all key here.
In this role you will:
- Develop and enhance machine learning models and algorithms that sit at the heart of a cutting-edge AI platform, helping solve complex scientific and chemistry-related challenges.
- Build, optimise, and maintain large-scale data pipelines, transforming millions of proprietary scientific records into high-quality datasets that power model development.
- Continuously improve model performance by incorporating new research findings, experimental results, and validation data into the platform's learning processes.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, software engineers, and subject matter experts to translate complex scientific problems into scalable, practical AI solutions.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of a market-leading technology platform, identifying opportunities for innovation, optimisation, and the application of new machine learning techniques.
About You
- Strong academic background in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline to MSc or PHD level.
- Commercial experience applying machine learning techniques to solve real-world problems
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling, machine learning algorithms, and data-driven decision making
- Excellent Python programming skills and familiarity with modern machine learning frameworks
- Experience working with large datasets and building robust data pipelines
- Knowledge of taking models from research and prototyping through to production environments
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across both technical and non-technical teams
- Naturally curious, analytical, and motivated by solving complex challenges
Desirable Experience
- Exposure to chemistry, cheminformatics, retrosynthesis, or scientific data envir onmentsExperience with MLOps practices and cloud platforms
- Knowledge of modern AI tooling, including large language models
- Familiarity with optimisation techniques and applied mathematics
- PhD-level academics
