About the role and the job scope

Based in our Vienna, Austria headquarters, the Legal Intern will provide essential support to our growing European Legal and Compliance team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious law student or recent graduate to gain hands-on experience in the rapidly evolving intersection of traditional finance and cryptocurrency regulation.

You will assist our senior legal professionals and Head of Legal with daily operations, regulatory research, and the documentation of internal policies.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct legal and regulatory research on topics related to European capital markets, specifically focusing on MiFID II, WAG 2018, and MiCAR.
• Support the compliance review of marketing materials, communications, and financial promotions to ensure alignment with internal guidelines and European regulatory standards.
• Assist the Compliance team in drafting, proofreading, and updating internal policies, procedures, and legal documentation.
• Support the preparation of compliance reports and presentations for Senior Management and regulatory bodies.
• Help organize and maintain legal files, corporate records, and compliance frameworks.
• Assist with administrative and process-oriented tasks, such as tracking regulatory updates and supporting the complaints handling process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary information for compliance reviews and audits.

Requirements

• Educational Background: Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a university degree in Law.
• Regulatory Interest: A strong, demonstrated interest in financial markets, cryptocurrency, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., MiFID II, WAG 2018, MiCAR).
• Analytical Skills: Highly structured and analytical way of working, with a keen attention to detail.
• Proactive Mindset: High degree of personal responsibility, eagerness to learn, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, international environment.
• Prior Experience: First practical experience (e.g., prior internships at a law firm, bank, or financial institution) is a plus, but not strictly required.
• Languages: Excellent communication skills with fluency in English required, knowledge of German is highly preferred.
• Fulltime Internship for 6 months.
