As a Data Scientist at XLSCOUT, you will be working with cutting-edge AI technologies to revolutionize IP and R&D intelligence. You’ll develop and deploy Natural Language Processing (NLP) solutions for analyzing large-scale text data and contribute to our AI-driven patent analytics platform.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop machine learning and deep learning models for NLP-based text analysis
• Work on sequence models such as RNN, LSTM, GRU, and transformers (BERT, GPT).
• Implement text preprocessing techniques (tokenization, POS tagging, parsing, embeddings).
• Research and fine-tune open-source LLMs like LLaMA 2, Mistral, and Falcon for AI applications
• Deploy models on AWS/GCP and integrate with cloud-based AI solutions
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and domain experts to improve AI-driven patent research.

His academic background spans engineering, law, and strategic business thinking. As the driving force behind XLSCOUT, he has pioneered the application of AI and NLP in IP research—empowering organizations globally to accelerate innovation and streamline their IP strategies.

Sandeep Singh Kohli – AI & Data Science Leader

Sandeep studied Artificial Intelligence at the University of Toronto, where he specialized in Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Reinforcement Learning, and Large Language Models (LLM). He also holds a B.Tech from Kurukshetra University.

At XLSCOUT, Sandeep has played a crucial role in building AI-powered patent intelligence tools, leveraging transformers, embeddings, and knowledge graphs to enhance IP research and patent analysis. His expertise in fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) and automating patent search workflows is helping global R&D teams make data-driven innovation decisions.

Hongyi Ding – AI Research & Innovation

Hongyi is an AI researcher specializing in LLMs, deep learning, and computational linguistics. He completed his Master of Science from University of Toronto focusing on transformer-based architectures, generative AI, and NLP applications. His research has contributed significantly to advancing AI-driven text analysis, document classification, and semantic search models.

At XLSCOUT, Hongyi leads AI model research and development, ensuring that cutting-edge NLP algorithms are integrated into patent search and IP analytics. His expertise in LLM fine-tuning and AI ethics helps ensure that XLSCOUT's models remain industry-leading and responsible.

🛠️ What You Bring

Must Haves:

· Strong programming skills in Python.

· Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms.

· Hands-on experience in NLP techniques, including document classification, topic modeling, clustering, and keyword extraction.j

· Experience with deep learning models (GRU, RNN, LSTM) and familiarity with advanced NLP models like BERT, GPT.

· Knowledge of text preprocessing techniques (Tokenization, POS tagging, etc.).

· Familiarity with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow for deep learning.

· Exposure to model deployment on cloud platforms like AWS/GCP.

· Proficiency in FastAPI for developing software applications.

· Knowledge of open-source LLMs (LLaMA 2, Mistral, etc.), with fine-tuning expertise for specific applications.

· Strong understanding of vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, and Elasticsearch.

· Experience in developing RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) based systems and designing scalable RAG architectures.

· Experience working with different embedding models such as bge-base and OpenAI embeddings.

· Working knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.

Preferred Haves:

• BE/B.Tech/ M.tech in any discipline.
• Ability to solve problems related to patent searches and construction.
• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of technical invention disclosures.

Nice To Haves:

• Experience in working with AI-based products and startups.
• Exposure to advanced AI technologies in NLP and deep learning.
• Previous experience with cloud infrastructure and model deployment.
