Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to oversee customer programs from project award through final delivery within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as the primary interface between customers and internal teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to quality and performance requirements.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in program or project management, excellent customer-facing communication skills, and experience coordinating cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of customer programs from project kickoff through completion and final approval.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding project schedules, deliverables, status updates, and scope changes.
- Develop, maintain, and communicate detailed project plans, schedules, and milestones.
- Coordinate activities across engineering, manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and other functional teams.
- Monitor project budgets, costs, change requests, and overall program performance.
- Identify project risks and implement proactive mitigation strategies.
- Lead internal program review meetings and customer progress updates.
- Track and report key performance indicators related to schedule, cost, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure proper documentation, approvals, and change management processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support process improvement initiatives that enhance program management effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of program or project management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and project execution.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and customer relationship management skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency with project management tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within tooling, precision manufacturing, plastics, machining, or related industries.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management training.
- Technical knowledge of machining, tooling, mold design, or manufacturing operations.
- Experience working with international suppliers or global manufacturing partners.
- Strong financial and cost-management skills, including budget tracking and margin analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a dynamic production environment.
Work Environment
- Customer-facing role requiring a professional and polished presence.
- Frequent interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Primarily onsite in a manufacturing environment.
- Local travel required to support customers and operations; occasional domestic travel may be necessary.
