Position Overview
IC Markets is looking for an experienced Engineering Manager – Internal Core Systems to lead the architecture, development, and delivery of our key internal platforms. This role will be responsible for systems including Back Office, Salesforce, internal tools, operational workflows, and potentially Integrations. The Engineering Manager will manage Tech Leads and engineering teams, ensuring strong technical direction, delivery ownership, system reliability, and continuous improvement across business-critical internal platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Management
Lead engineering teams responsible for Back Office, Salesforce, internal tools, and core business systems.
- Manage Tech Leads reporting into this role, ensuring clear ownership, accountability, and technical direction.
- Partner with Product, QA, Cloud, Security, Data, Compliance, Sales, Payments, Risk, Finance, and Support teams.
- Improve delivery predictability, team performance, and engineering execution.
- Support hiring, technical interviews, and team expansion.
Architecture, Development and Delivery
- Own the architecture, development quality, and delivery execution of internal core systems.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, reliable, maintainable, and aligned with long-term technology goals.
- Guide technical decisions together with Tech Leads and engineering teams.
- Identify and resolve technical blockers, delivery risks, dependencies, and performance issues.
- Drive strong engineering practices, including documentation, code reviews, testing, CI/CD, and release readiness.
Back Office and Salesforce
- Lead engineering delivery for Back Office, Salesforce, and related internal platforms.
- Support systems used across Sales, Compliance, Client Support, Marketing, Payments, Risk, Finance, and Operations.
- Ensure platforms support client lifecycle processes, including onboarding, KYC, account management, payments, compliance workflows, reporting, and internal operations.
- Drive improvements in workflow automation, reporting, system usability, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure Salesforce and Back Office systems are properly integrated with the wider IC Markets ecosystem.
Integrations and Platform Connectivity
- Lead or support the future setup of an Integrations Squad, depending on the final structure.
- Oversee integrations between Salesforce, Back Office, Client Area, payment systems, KYC providers, trading systems, data platforms, and third-party services.
- Ensure APIs and integrations are secure, scalable, well documented, monitored, and reliable.
- Promote automation and reduce manual operational processes.
Modernization and Operational Excellence
- Lead modernization of legacy internal systems and support migration toward scalable, cloud-native architectures.
- Drive improvements in system reliability, monitoring, alerting, incident management, and root cause analysis.
- Track KPIs related to system stability, delivery performance, integration reliability, and engineering productivity.
- Reduce technical debt and improve long-term maintainability.
- Ensure strong operational discipline, auditability, access control, and compliance alignment.
AI Adoption and Engineering Productivity
- Promote practical use of AI tools to improve delivery speed, code quality, documentation, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Encourage teams to adopt AI-assisted development practices responsibly.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work and improve engineering efficiency through automation and AI.
Requirements
Experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in engineering leadership or technical management roles.
- 2+ years of leading 25+ people teams.
- Proven experience managing Tech Leads, senior engineers, or multiple engineering workstreams.
- Experience leading CRM, Back Office, Salesforce, internal business systems, enterprise systems, or operational platforms.
- Strong experience owning architecture, development, and delivery of business-critical systems.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems and improving scalable platform architectures.
- Experience with integrations between internal platforms and third-party systems.
- Financial services, fintech, brokerage, trading, payments, or regulated industry experience is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong experience with .NET, SQL, APIs, and enterprise system architecture.
- Experience with Salesforce ecosystem, including integrations, workflows, automation, reporting, and data models.
- Good knowledge of AWS, cloud-native development, Docker, microservices, and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of API design, event-driven architecture, data synchronization, and system interoperability.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and production support.
- Practical experience using AI tools to improve engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.
Methodologies and Practices
- Strong experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple teams, squads, or technical workstreams.
- Strong understanding of release governance, technical planning, dependency management, and delivery risk management.
- Ability to balance business urgency with technical quality, security, stability, and maintainability.
- Strong focus on ownership, accountability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in forex, CFD, brokerage, fintech, banking, payments, or regulated financial environments.
- Strong understanding of CRM, Back Office, Salesforce, KYC, onboarding, payments, compliance workflows, sales processes, and client support operations.
- Experience working in integration-heavy environments with multiple internal and external platforms.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to act as a bridge between Product, Engineering, QA, Cloud, Security, Data, business teams, and senior leadership.
- Experience improving delivery predictability, engineering team performance, and operational efficiency.
