Technical Lead

We are looking for a skilled Technical Lead and backend developer with a minimum of 10 years of

experience to design, build, and scale robust service-oriented systems.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable microservices using core Java and Spring Boot, ensuring high reliability and consistent performance across service boundaries.
• Develop secure and compliant service interfaces for account management, payments, and lending journeys that enhance customer experience and reduce operational friction.
• Optimise SQL-based data access patterns and database structures to ensure fast response times, accurate reporting, and resilient transaction processing.
• Integrate microservices with Azure managed services to improve scalability, simplify operations, and enhance resiliency across workloads.
• Coordinate with client service and operations teams to support application maintenance, manage incident resolution, and ensure service continuity across production environments.
• Coordinate with DevOps teams to refine CI/CD pipelines that automate builds, testing, and
• deployments for Java and JavaScript services.

Skills

• 10+ years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• Deep, hands-on proficiency with Java and the Spring Boot framework.
• Demonstrated track record designing and deploying production-grade microservices architectures.

Technical Expertise

• Strong command of RESTful API design, and service interface best practices including
• versioning, error handling, and security.
• Proficiency with MySQL and relational database optimisation, query tuning, schema design,
• indexing, and transaction management.
• Practical experience with caching strategies (e.g. Redis) and event-driven architectures
• using message brokers.
• Cloud-native skills including containerisation with Docker, orchestration with Kubernetes,
• and deployment on Azure.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript and front-end component development for web channels.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices for automated build, test, and release
• pipelines.
