Python Engineer (Backend / Platform Engineering)

Location: Wroclaw, Warsaw, Krakow

Type of work: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in office)- obligatory

Contract: only contract of employment

Salaries: base+ financial bonus

About The Role

We’re looking for Python Engineers to help design, build, and scale a backend platform that underpins advanced machine learning capabilities, including real-time use cases such as fraud detection.

This role is strongly focused on backend and platform engineering. While the platform supports ML workloads, prior machine learning experience is not required. We’re primarily interested in engineers who have built reliable, scalable, production-grade systems and enjoy working close to the core of distributed platforms.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services in Python
• Build and evolve distributed systems supporting real-time data processing
• Work with streaming data pipelines and event-driven architectures
• Develop and operate services in AWS cloud environments
• Collaborate closely with platform, data, and engineering teams to ensure system reliability and scalability
• Write clean, testable, and maintainable production code
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making
  
  

What We’re Looking For

Must-have

• 5–7 years of professional experience as a Python backend engineer
• Strong experience building production-grade backend or platform systems
• Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (reliability, scalability, fault tolerance)
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
• Knowledge of APIs, microservices, and backend service design
• Strong engineering fundamentals: debugging, testing, performance optimization
  
  

Nice-to-have (not required):

• Experience with streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, Pub/Sub)
• Exposure to data platforms or ML-enabled systems
• Experience with high-throughput or low-latency systems (e.g., real-time processing)
• Infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, or DevOps tooling
