Backend Engineer

We are hiring a Backend Engineer to help develop and scale the microservices that form the backbone of our global legal AI platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Scalable Development: Develop and maintain high-traffic microservices to support our expanding global footprint.
• Code Quality: Deliver clean, well-tested, and maintainable code while actively participating in code review processes.
• Feature Ownership: Take ownership of backend tasks, collaborating closely with senior engineers to implement complex features.
• System Integration: Assist in building and maintaining reliable integrations between core services, AI agents, and large-scale data stores.
• Performance Optimization: Help optimize system reliability and latency across distributed services through efficient caching and messaging strategies.

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years of backend experience building and maintaining Java and Spring Boot applications in production.
• Good understanding of software design principles, including OOP and SOLID principles.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch or similar technologies for high-performance search and indexing.
• Basic understanding or practical experience with messaging systems like RabbitMQ/Kafka and in-memory caching with Redis.
• Exposure to WebSocket and real-time streaming architectures is a plus.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and automated CI/CD pipelines.
• An agile mindset: Ability to ship high-quality code and iterate quickly rather than waiting for perfect conditions.
