About This Role

At Just Eat Takeaway.com, we connect millions of customers with their favorite food every day. When something goes wrong, our resolution team steps in to make it right.

As a Software Engineer, you'll build the smart, highly scalable systems that handle refunds, cancellations, and customer communications efficiently. Using modern architecture based on event-driven microservices and Domain-Driven Design you’ll help us "Lead, Deliver, and Care" by putting teamwork and customer trust first.

These are some of the key components to the position:

• Design, build, and maintain highly scalable backend microservices using a variety of technologies. to resolve customer issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, specialists, and developers to deliver robust, customer-centric solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, ensuring the stability of existing products.
• Drive engineering excellence by producing clean, testable, and well-documented code.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain high coding standards.
• Optimize architecture for maximum speed and scalability.
• Take full ownership of new features, from initial architectural design through to deployment and monitoring in production.
• Embrace and drive the adoption of Agentic AI tools and best practices to accelerate development velocity and automate routine engineering tasks.
  
  

What will you bring to the team?

• Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with others.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, like Scrum or Kanban with a mindset geared toward iterative delivery.
• Strong knowledge of architectural principles, design patterns and best coding practices, practical ability to deliver them to our fast-paced environment
• Proven experience of software engineering in either Java or C# with enterprise frameworks such as Spring or .Net .
• Experience with databases, such as MySQL or DynamoDB.
• Understanding of version control systems, like Git.
• Awareness of continuous delivery in cloud infrastructure Using Docker, K8s, AWS
• Familiarity with event streaming frameworks (like Kafka or SQS) is a big plus.
• Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical challenges in production environments, leveraging advanced monitoring and observability tools
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and grow within a collaborative, fast-moving engineering environment.
