IT Network Support Engineer

We’re looking for a skilled IT Network Support Specialist to join our team! If you have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills, and enjoy helping people, this role is for you.

What you’ll be doing:

· Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance via phone, email, or web portal.

· Provide first-line technical support to our client's customers via phone, email, and the client platform.

· Log, track, and update all incidents and requests in the helpdesk ticketing system, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

· Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques, targeted questioning, and system analysis.

· Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of servers, storage systems, desktops, audio-visual equipment, printers, software, and network infrastructure.

· Conduct fault diagnosis, collect and analyze system logs, and resolve technical issues in collaboration with system and equipment suppliers when necessary.

· Escalate unresolved or complex issues

· Support network infrastructure activities including VPN connectivity, routing, switching, firewall configuration, and wireless deployments.

· Coordinate and manage third-party engineers for on-site troubleshooting at customer locations.

· Occasionally travel within the EU, as required for business needs (2–3 times per year).

· Work 8-hour shifts within the 09:00 to 21:00 window.

· Hybrid work arrangements may be possible depending on project and operational needs, with occasional presence at the Cluj-Napoca office. Candidates must be based in Cluj-Napoca or within commuting distance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• 4+ years of experience in network support, infrastructure operations, technical support, NOC, or system administration environments.

• Good understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPN technologies, firewalls, DNS, DHCP.

• Experience with enterprise networking equipment and technologies.

• Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux systems administration.

• Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, KVM, or similar platforms.

• Basic experience with server infrastructure, storage environments, and hardware troubleshooting.

• Familiarity with ticketing systems, monitoring tools, and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Good communication skills in English and customer-oriented mindset.

• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in dynamic environments.

• Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Fortinet, or equivalent.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Huawei and Fortinet solutions.

• Exposure to routing and switching technologies (BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, STP).

• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, TCPDump, Grafana, PRTG.

• Basic scripting and automation knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python).
