Amazon RIVR

HR & Office Operations Specialist

Amazon RIVR
Switzerland · Full-time · Not Applicable

Amazon RIVR is a robotics company pioneering Physical AI through real-world doorstep delivery. Founded in 2024 as an ETH Zurich spin-off, RIVR developed wheeled-legged robots designed to operate in complex, unstructured environments such as stairs, gates, doors, and uneven urban terrain. We believe that achieving general physical intelligence requires solving real customer problems in the real world, where robots can learn from rich operational data at scale.

Following our acquisition by Amazon in March 2026, we are continuing this mission with greater reach and speed. By combining custom robot hardware, onboard autonomy, and cloud-based coordination, Amazon RIVR is building the next generation of safe, reliable autonomous robots for last-mile delivery

Job Description

As we scale within the Amazon ecosystem, we are looking for an HR & Office Operations Specialist to act as a mission-critical partner to our HR Manager. You will be the operational "engine" of our Zurich site, balancing the technical integration into Amazon’s global systems with the management of our professional workspace. This role is for a high-functioning professional who can navigate enterprise-level HRIS environments and the logistical challenges of a corporate office relocation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • HR Support & Integration (70%):
    • System Migration & Data Integrity: Support the transition from BambooHR to Amazon’s global PeopleSoft environment. You will be responsible for data hygiene, record migration, and becoming the local "power user" for Amazon’s HR tools
    • SharePoint Architecture: Act as the "Librarian" for the Zurich site, building and maintaining a highly organized, secure HR knowledge hub in Microsoft SharePoint to ensure all team documentation is Amazon-audit-ready
    • Payroll & Compliance Quality: Act as the first line of defense for Swiss payroll, supporting the HR & Office Operations Manager in reviewing monthly reports for accuracy and oversee mandatory time-tracking records for our contractor and employee workforce
    • Lifecycle Management: Support the administrative depth of the employee journey; this includes securing Swiss work permits, issuing employment certificates (Arbeitszeugnisse), and handling all local administrative correspondence, while ensuring international onboarding remains seamless within the Amazon framework

  • Workplace & Facility Operations (30%):
    • Office Transition & Relocation: Play a central role in our upcoming office move. You will be the primary point of contact for the relocation project, ensuring a seamless transition for the entire team
    • Facility Stakeholder Management: Act as the bridge between Amazon’s Global Real Estate/Facilities team, our local site leadership, and external vendors to ensure the new office space meets all operational standards
    • Vendor & Day-to-Day Ops: Manage all local office vendors (catering, facilities, maintenance) and ensure the physical environment remains a productive, high-standard workspace

What You Must Have

  • 3-5 years of experience in HR Operations or as a Senior Coordinator/Specialist, ideally within a scaling corporate or tech environment
  • Possession of a nationally recognized credential like the HRSE (Human Resources Swiss Exams) certificate or a Federal Diploma of Higher Education in HR
  • Expert-level skills in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (specifically SharePoint, Outlook, and Excel). Experience with PeopleSoft or other large-scale enterprise HRIS is a significant advantage
  • Solid understanding of Swiss labor law and experience auditing Swiss payroll and social security (AHV/BVG) outputs
  • Full professional fluency in English and German (essential for local regulatory work and managing Swiss vendors)

Get some bonus points

  • Experience migrating employee data between platforms (e.g., from BambooHR to PeopleSoft or Workday) with a focus on data hygiene
  • Hands-on experience coordinating an office move, including managing timelines with moving companies and collaborating with corporate Real Estate/Facilities teams
  • High proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) for auditing complex payroll outputs and contractor time-tracking records
  • Experience building user-friendly intranet pages or wikis in SharePoint to improve self-service for employees

Amazon RIVR is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team that values every perspective. If you’re passionate about driving innovation in robotics and creating meaningful impact, we encourage you to apply and bring your unique self to our team.

We believe the best work is done when collaborating and therefore require in-person presence in our office locations.

Final compensation will be determined based on skills, experience, and leveling.

In addition to base salary, employees may be eligible for Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and other benefits. You'll join a world-class team working on cutting-edge robotics and AI technologies, helping shape the future of physical AI.
