Staff Software Engineer

About the Role

• Define and evolve system architecture, ensuring scalability, resilience, and efficiency.


• Translate needs into solutions, leading both discovery and delivery processes.


• Make technical decisions with a long-term vision and business impact in mind.


• Ensure systems are observable, recoverable, and operable.


• Balance focus vs. alignment; respond to incidents and urgent demands.


• Collaborate with product, data, and stakeholders to define strategies.


• Promote best practices, standards, and technical consistency across teams.


• Act as a technical reference for the team, raising the bar for engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.


• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and effectively resolve issues.


• Golang, Python, or another domain language for backend development.


• Distributed Architecture: Microservices, event-driven (Kafka), CQRS/Saga, eventual consistency, idempotency, discovery, backpressure.


• APIs and Contracts: REST design, OpenAPI, versioning.


• Data and Storage: SQL/NoSQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL), Redis, Kafka, Elasticsearch, partitioning, indexes, transactions.


• Cloud & DevOps: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform (IaC), CI/CD.


• Observability: OpenTelemetry, structured logs, Prometheus/Grafana, Jaeger, SLI/SLO.


• Security: OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, mTLS/TLS, secrets management (Vault).


• Quality & Governance: TDD/BDD, contract testing, linters, code review, ADRs/RFCs.


• Fluency in both Portuguese and English.
