Frontend Engineer (React + TypeScript) — Freelance | Hybrid Porto or Lisbon | EV Tech

We're hiring a Senior Frontend Engineer to join a fast-growing EV charging scale-up building user-facing platforms that power thousands of chargers across Europe. You'll own complex web apps that drive core business workflows: authentication, payments, charger management.

This is a freelance role through Shakers, the platform connecting top tech freelancers with high-impact projects across Europe. We handle contracting, payments and admin so you focus on shipping.

What you'll do

• Build and scale sophisticated React 18+ apps in TypeScript
• Own end-to-end user journeys (auth, payments, charger flows)
• Influence frontend architecture decisions: state, routing, performance, observability
• Integrate with microservices via gRPC/REST
• Champion testing, monitoring (Sentry) and CI/CD best practices
• Collaborate closely with product, design, backend and ops

Must-have

• 3–6 years building production-grade frontend apps
• Strong React 18+ and TypeScript
• Hands-on with TanStack Query, TanStack Router, React Hook Form
• Solid testing chops: Jest/Vitest + Cypress/Playwright
• gRPC/REST integration with microservices
• Observability mindset (Sentry or similar)
