Network Engineer

A leading financial services organisation is looking to hire a Network Engineer to join its internal infrastructure team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in networking and security who is looking to continue developing their skills within a highly professional, enterprise environment. The team is investing heavily in modernisation, automation and security initiatives, offering exposure to a wide range of technologies and projects.

This opportunity is best suited to an engineer who is still looking to develop their technical skills and grow within a team environment. It is not intended for lead, principal or architect-level professionals.

What You'll Be Doing

• Supporting and maintaining enterprise network and security infrastructure
• Managing and improving firewall policies and network security controls
• Working on network automation and operational efficiency initiatives
• Supporting cloud networking and connectivity projects
• Contributing to infrastructure modernisation and resilience programmes
• Investigating and resolving network and security-related incidents
• Collaborating with infrastructure, cloud and security teams on strategic projects
• Helping drive continuous improvement across networking and security operations

Upcoming Projects

The team is currently involved in a number of exciting initiatives including:

• Network security enhancement and segmentation projects
• Cloud connectivity and hybrid networking improvements
• Firewall platform optimisation and expansion
• Infrastructure modernisation programmes
• Automation of network management and operational processes
• Improvements to network performance, resilience and availability

What We're Looking For

We are interested in speaking with candidates who have experience in some of the following areas:

• Enterprise networking (routing, switching, LAN/WAN)
• Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco Firepower or similar)
• Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Network automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell or similar)
• Network security and access control
• Troubleshooting complex infrastructure environments

You do not need to have experience across every technology listed above. The organisation is keen to hire individuals with strong foundations, a willingness to learn and the potential to grow within the team.

• Candidates based elsewhere in Europe may also be considered if they hold an EU passport and are willing to relocate.
