Role Purpose

Responsible for the security, integrity, and appropriate use of all digital systems, data, and AI technologies across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cybersecurity Leadership
  • Develop and maintain the cybersecurity framework
  • Enforce: MFA, role-based access, endpoint security
  • Manage external security providers (SOC, testing)
  • Lead incident response
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR and regulatory requirements, eg NIS2
  • Security Governance & Risk
  • Maintain security policies and risk frameworks
  • Conduct SaaS vendor security assessments
  • Maintain access controls, logs, and asset registers
  • Report risks and posture to senior leadership
  • Develop and enforce AI usage policies
  • Ensure safe handling of sensitive data in AI tools
  • Evaluate AI tools (data risk, security) before approval
  • Define approved tools and usage boundaries
  • Governance & Compliance
  • Policy and risk framework development
  • Strong GDPR / data protection knowledge
  • AI Enablement
  • Identify opportunities across the organisational systems for AI utilisation
  • Lead the implementation of AI programs
  • Support safe rollout of tools (e.g. Copilot)
  • Advise on use cases and risk mitigation
  • Identify and drive practical AI opportunities
  • Data Protection
  • Ensure strong data governance and access controls
  • Protect resident, staff, and operational data

Key Competencies

Cybersecurity

  • Identity & access management, M365 security, endpoint protection
  • Experience in incident response, risk frameworks, vendor management

Generative AI

  • Hands-on use of ChatGPT, Copilot or similar
  • Understanding of:
  • data leakage risks
  • model limitations
  • prompt risks
  • Ability to define governance and practical use cases

Communication

  • Translate technical risks into plain language
  • Influence non-technical stakeholders
  • Produce clear reports and insights

Essential

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5-8+ years in IT / cybersecurity
  • Advanced proficiency in Generative AI tools
  • Experience in cloud environments (Microsoft 365)
  • Experience managing external providers

Cyber Certification

  • CISSP or
  • CISM or equivalent
