About This Role:

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript, NestJS/Node.js) to join our Fulfilment team based in Munich or working remotely from Germany. In this role, you will work on the backend systems that support how customers earn, track, and redeem cashback across our reward platforms. You will contribute to the services behind transaction handling, partner integrations, reward processing, and reliable fulfilment flows.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building stable, scalable systems that sit close to the customer experience. Your work will help ensure that users can move through the cashback journey with clarity, trust, and fewer points of friction.

Responsibilities:

As a Backend/ Full-Stack Engineer, you will:

• Build and improve backend services that support cashback, redemption, fulfilment flows, and reliable reward experiences across Atolls platforms.
• Develop scalable APIs and services using TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, and related backend technologies, with a focus on reliability and maintainability.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders to translate fulfilment needs into clear technical solutions.
• Integrate and maintain partner APIs, third-party systems, and internal services that support transaction and reward processing.
• Improve performance, observability, testing, and documentation across services that sit close to the customer cashback journey.
• Guide technical decisions, contribute to code reviews, and support engineering quality through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
  
  
  

Your Profile:

We’re looking for someone with backend engineering experience in scalable product environments, ideally with exposure to cashback, rewards, payments, fulfilment, or other transaction-heavy systems.

• You have 6+ years of experience in software development, with strong backend engineering skills.
• You are confident working with TypeScript, Node.js, NestJS, REST APIs, and service-oriented or microservice architectures.
• You have experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including databases, queues, event-driven systems, or distributed services.
• You understand common backend architecture patterns and can design systems that are scalable, maintainable, and reliable.
• You care about clean code, automated testing, documentation, observability, and long-term maintainability.
• You bring a structured approach to problem-solving and can balance technical quality with product and business priorities.
• You communicate clearly in English and enjoy working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
• Experience with GraphQL, federation, Supergraph concepts, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, GitLab, Docker, or CI/CD practices is a plus.
